As Sereias (The Mermaids)
As Sereias (The Mermaids) is Samba do Mar’s Community Dance Performance Team. Members are dedicated to continuous training and performing with the utmost respect for Brazilian culture. The team consists of dancers from a variety of backgrounds and many have been studying for years with acclaimed Brazilian Dancer professionals from Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, Bahia.

As Sereias is available to share our love for Brazilian Dance at fundraisers, festivals and other community events.

As Sereias Requirements and Expectations:

Intermediate to advanced level of Brazilian Samba no Pé
-
History of taking Samba no Pé classes consistently for at least 3 years

Dedication to studyimg Samba and Brazilian culture

Enjoys a dance environment focused on teamwork and supporting fellow dancers

Commitment to participating in As Sereias rehearsals, classes and events as stated in the Performance Team Agreement
*Deadline for As Sereias Interest Form is 10/31/24
**If you have previously submitted an As Sereias Interest Form and did not receive an invitation to be a Team Member, we invite you to resubmit the Interest Form again. The Board does NOT retain Interest Forms after each review period. A new form must be filled out.
